East Molesey Kent Town Conservation Area - 1. Silver leaved maple (number 1 on sketch): whole crown reduce back to previous reduction points, reducing height by 2.5m from 13m to 10.5m and spread by 2.5m all round from 14m to 9m. Reasons: excessive shading, excessive leaf fall (rendering driveway dangerous in autumn and winter), and damage to cars from bird droppings (rendering driveway underneath unusable). 2. Magnolia (number 2 on sketch): crown (top only) reduce by 1m, reducing height from 4.5m to 3.5m. Reason - untidy top growth.

Proposed works are to selectively reduce lateral branches growing towards property and road by approximately 1.5 - 2 metres and lift crown to a height of approximately 4 metres. Height of tree will not be affected by these works and spread will be reduced to approximately 7.5 - 8 metres. These works are being carried out to reduce end weight and give clearance from property, footpath and highway. T2 - Malus tree growing beside T1. Tree has a height of approximately 4 metres. Tree has a large snapped limb and poor form. Proposed works are to remove the tree due to poor condition. T3 - Mature Lawson Cypress tree near to house in back garden. Tree has a height of approximately 14 metres and spread of approximately 4.5 metres. Proposed works are to remove the tree due to low vigour and sparse crown. Esher Conservation Area - T1 Leyland Cypress (Rear Garden) Fell to ground level. Reason for Works: The tree is situated in very close proximity to the adjacent outbuilding. As the tree has matured, the stem has increased to a diameter at breast height (DBH) of approximately 40 cm and is now in direct contact with the structure, causing abrasion and damage to the building. Due to the ongoing increase in stem diameter, further structural damage is considered likely if the tree is retained. The proposed removal is therefore necessary to prevent additional damage while maintaining the safety and integrity of the adjacent structure. T2 Lawson Cypress (Rear Garden) Remove one large declining lateral limb and carry out a crown clean to remove all deadwood throughout the canopy. Reason for Works: A substantial lateral limb is in decline, exhibiting extensive dieback and a significant reduction in live foliage. The removal of this limb is proposed to reduce the risk of branch failure and improve the tree's overall condition. In addition, deadwood will be removed throughout the crown to eliminate potential hazards, improve canopy health, and form part of routine arboricultural management.
