Proposal
Tree Preservation Order EL:12/02 - T1 - mature Horse Chestnut tree situated to rear of back garden adjacent to public car park. Tree has a height of approximately 22 metres and spread of approximately 10 metres. T2 - mature Horse Chestnut tree situated to rear of back garden adjacent to car park and service alley. Tree has a height of approximately 20 metres and spread of approximately 10 metres. The trees have reasonable public amenity value viewed from car park and adjacent properties. Reasons for pruning are to reduce areas of crown extending beyond natural canopy to reduce end weight, particularly in areas extending towards car park. Maintaining both trees at a reasonable size suitable to their location, balancing use of private garden with amenity, keeping a flowing outline at a decreased size. Proposed work is to carry out a 1.5 - 2 metres selective crown reduction on both trees with pruning cuts no greater than 30mm diameter, will be up to one third the diameter of the parent branch, leaving a flowing crown.

Tree Preservation Order EL:18/07 - T1 - Horse chestnut - Proposed Works: Crown lift over the roadside only to provide a minimum clearance of 5.2 metres above ground level. All pruning shall be limited to secondary branches where practicable and carried out in accordance with BS3998:2010 Tree Work Recommendations, with a maximum pruning wound diameter of 50mm. Reason for Proposed Works: Following a tree survey, it was identified that the crown over the carriageway has been subject to contact from larger vehicles in the past. The proposed crown lift will provide appropriate clearance for high-sided vehicles, reducing the likelihood of future vehicle strikes and preventing unnecessary damage to the tree, whilst retaining its long-term health and amenity value.
