Planning application

12 Arnison Road East Molesey Surrey KT8 9JJ

Granted Elmbridge 2025/2744 Tree Conservation Area

Works: Trees

Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.

Proposal

East Molesey Kent Town Conservation Area - Persian Ironwood at front of house (position shown on sketch map) Shown as tree A. Remove and grind stump. Tree is inappropriate to the conservation area and not native to the British Isles. Replace with Walnut Tree 15 to 20cm girth approx 2m height . This is a better match for other adjacent trees ( oak , beech) and grow well in the local conditions (several in the rear of 10 Arnison Road) This tree would also replace the Walnut partially uprooted and subsequently felled after storm damage late 80's and which gave the name of Walnut Tree House to 12 Arnison Road.

East Molesey Kent Town Conservation Area - T1 - Lime tree on rear boundary - tree has a height of approximately 20 metres and spread of approximately 12 metres. Proposed works are to reduce crown by approximately 2-2.5 metres to previous pruning points, remove regrowth on main trunk to lift crown to a height of approximately 3 metres, leaving the tree with a height of approximately 17.5 metres and spread of approximately 8 metres. These works are being carried out to give clearance from pool house, maintain the tree at a reasonable size suitable to location by carrying out cyclical pruning and allowing light into pool area.

  • 2026/1784 Granted

    34 Clive Road Esher Surrey KT10 8PS

Esher Conservation Area - T1 Leyland Cypress (Rear Garden) Fell to ground level. Reason for Works: The tree is situated in very close proximity to the adjacent outbuilding. As the tree has matured, the stem has increased to a diameter at breast height (DBH) of approximately 40 cm and is now in direct contact with the structure, causing abrasion and damage to the building. Due to the ongoing increase in stem diameter, further structural damage is considered likely if the tree is retained. The proposed removal is therefore necessary to prevent additional damage while maintaining the safety and integrity of the adjacent structure. T2 Lawson Cypress (Rear Garden) Remove one large declining lateral limb and carry out a crown clean to remove all deadwood throughout the canopy. Reason for Works: A substantial lateral limb is in decline, exhibiting extensive dieback and a significant reduction in live foliage. The removal of this limb is proposed to reduce the risk of branch failure and improve the tree's overall condition. In addition, deadwood will be removed throughout the crown to eliminate potential hazards, improve canopy health, and form part of routine arboricultural management.
