Proposal
EL:258 - 10 hornbeam trees to the rear of the boundary fence of 10 Hermitage Close and over the road opposite to 12 Rosehill. Request to; 1) Lower crown lift back to the trunk (advised that leaving 1 metre or more from trunk could cause die back due to lack of light) 2) Trees to be cut up to height of 6 metres . Work is required to keep the trees in good condition and reduce excessive shading of garden and risk of collapsing branches After consultation with a Tree Specialist, I have been advised that the actions above is best practise to ensure health of the Hornbeam trees in accordance with the British Institute of Standards 2010; Reasons; 1) Overhanging lower branches encroaching on garden 2) Constant bird defecation causing potential danger to young children playing 3) Becoming claustrophobic

Neighbour at no.14 has just had his trees cut back to enable more light to enter the garden and maintain a healthy level for the protected trees- this is the same kind of application as has been done on many occasions over the years.

Tree Preservation Order EL:89/15 - T1 - Oak - reduce overall by 3m and raise canopy up to 5m by removing secondary branches to leave a finished height of 15m and a finished spread of 9m. The Oak has developed into a large tree for its present location within a relatively confined rear residential garden, with the crown extending in close proximity to the boundary with the neighbouring property. The proposed works are intended to manage the tree's overall size and crown dimensions in relation to its setting, while retaining its contribution to the local amenity. The proposed work will maintain the tree at a more appropriate scale for its location and will provide greater clearance from the neighbouring property and improve the relationship between the tree and the surrounding residential garden environment.
