Weston Green Conservation Area - 2 X Ash Trees and 1 X Fir Tree Ash Numbered as #1 and #2 on the plan. Fir Numbered as #3. All tree's to be felled due to proximity to residence and infestation of Ivy growth leading to dangerous condition. The tree's do not have individual protection orders in place but are located within the rear gardens of two properties in a conservation area. One of the properties is vacant and the tree's are unsafe, causing concern to the residents at the rear of the gardens. The other is as the rear of an occupied property although has now grown to a hight that overhangs the property at the rear and is a concern, some evidence of ground movement and subsidence as well as risk of damage from falling limbs onto property. Removal of the Ash tree in the occupied property will allow for the growth of a more suitable, Hazel tree in the same place.

Tree Preservation Order EL:18/07 - T1 - Horse chestnut - Proposed Works: Crown lift over the roadside only to provide a minimum clearance of 5.2 metres above ground level. All pruning shall be limited to secondary branches where practicable and carried out in accordance with BS3998:2010 Tree Work Recommendations, with a maximum pruning wound diameter of 50mm. Reason for Proposed Works: Following a tree survey, it was identified that the crown over the carriageway has been subject to contact from larger vehicles in the past. The proposed crown lift will provide appropriate clearance for high-sided vehicles, reducing the likelihood of future vehicle strikes and preventing unnecessary damage to the tree, whilst retaining its long-term health and amenity value.

The proposed works are intended as cyclical maintenance to manage the extent of the crown over the neighbouring garden whilst retaining the tree's health, structural integrity and amenity value within the woodland setting. All pruning works shall be carried out in accordance with BS3998:2010 Tree Work Recommendations, with a maximum pruning wound diameter of 40mm, pruning back to suitable secondary growth points.
