Proposal
EL:13/08 - The tree is identified as OAK (T1) on the sketch plan (plan1). OAK T1 is within the garden of 34 Hurst Road and close to the fence of 32 Hurst road and branches significantly overhanging the garden of 32 Hurst road. The tree OAK T1 is very dominating and cuts out significant light from both gardens and is significantly impacting the enjoyment our neighbours at number 32 Hurst road get from their garden. Our neighbours (32 Hurst Rd) have complained several times and we don't want this to affect the good relationship we have with them. In our garden (34 Hurst Rd) the tree (T1) also regularly sheds many branches up to 5cm into diameter which could cause significant injury. The reason for the work is to allow more light into both gardens and the proposed work is to reduce the crown from a height of 18m and a radial spread of 10m to a final height of 15m and a radial spread of 8m. Also a crown lift through the selective reduction and removal of smaller diameter branches to achieve a clearance of 5m max with a final cut size no greater than 50mm.

Tree Preservation Order EL:18/07 - T1 - Horse chestnut - Proposed Works: Crown lift over the roadside only to provide a minimum clearance of 5.2 metres above ground level. All pruning shall be limited to secondary branches where practicable and carried out in accordance with BS3998:2010 Tree Work Recommendations, with a maximum pruning wound diameter of 50mm. Reason for Proposed Works: Following a tree survey, it was identified that the crown over the carriageway has been subject to contact from larger vehicles in the past. The proposed crown lift will provide appropriate clearance for high-sided vehicles, reducing the likelihood of future vehicle strikes and preventing unnecessary damage to the tree, whilst retaining its long-term health and amenity value.
