Downside Village Conservation Area - This notification relates to two trees on our property situated close to the boundary wall between our garden and our neighbour???s garden. Our neighbours have been advised that these two trees (a goat willow and a Lawson cypress) may have roots which are causing damage to their property. They have therefore requested us to remove these two trees. We are willing to remove them provided that there is no objection to this from the Council, given that our properties (KT11 3NL) are both in a conservation area.

Downside Village Conservation Area - To remove a small oak tree on left side of drive, 10m away from the house, on the advice of a structural engineer who has been consulted about cracks to the outside wall of the house. This oak tree self-seeded about 20 years ago and has seriously outgrown its location, given its proximity to the house, and is now causing damage. An arborist has been consulted, and he recommends removal of the tree which can be done without difficulty inside our property.

Tree Preservation Order EL:18/07 - T1 - Horse chestnut - Proposed Works: Crown lift over the roadside only to provide a minimum clearance of 5.2 metres above ground level. All pruning shall be limited to secondary branches where practicable and carried out in accordance with BS3998:2010 Tree Work Recommendations, with a maximum pruning wound diameter of 50mm. Reason for Proposed Works: Following a tree survey, it was identified that the crown over the carriageway has been subject to contact from larger vehicles in the past. The proposed crown lift will provide appropriate clearance for high-sided vehicles, reducing the likelihood of future vehicle strikes and preventing unnecessary damage to the tree, whilst retaining its long-term health and amenity value.

All pruning works shall be carried out in accordance with BS3998:2010 Tree Work Recommendations, with a maximum pruning wound diameter of 40mm, pruning back to suitable secondary growth points.
