Tree Preservation Order ESH:90 - T1 - Cedar tree in back garden. Tree has a height of approximately 21 metres and spread of approximately 10 metres. Proposed works are to reduce height of the tree by approximately 2-2.5 metres and reduce overlong lateral branches by approximately 1.5-2 metres. This is to reduce end weight and reduce risk of future failures, and to give clearance from neighbouring garden, maintaining tree at a reasonable size suitable to location and retaining amenity value. Leaving tree with a height of approximately 19 metres and spread of approximately 8 metres.

    2025/3181 Submitted 1 Dec 2025 53m away

East Molesey Old Village Conservation Area - T1 Lime (Tilia sp.) Proposal: Re-pollard to previous reduction points to maintain established pollard framework. Reason: Routine cyclical maintenance and to contain within appropriate proportions for location. Works: Reduce the crown back to existing pollard knuckles, removing approximately 2-3m of height and lateral growth, retaining furnishing growth where possible. T2 Leylandii (Neighbour's boundary) Proposal: Reduce height and trim back overhanging lateral growth. Reason: Encroachment over garden and excessive shading. Works: Reduce overall height and prune back lateral branches to within boundary, cutting to suitable growth points where applicable, maintaining a neat hedge line. T3 Leylandii (Rear garden) Proposal: Reduce height to match neighbouring Leylandii hedge. Reason: Improve uniformity, reduce visual dominance and future maintenance requirement. Works: Reduce height by approximately 2m from current height of 6m to around 4m, forming a level, uniform hedge top. T4 Sycamore (on site) Option A Re-pollard: Re-pollard to previous reduction points to continue established pollard management cycle. Option B Fell and stump grind: Fell to ground level and mechanically grind stump to approximately 35-40cm below existing soil level. Reason: Ongoing maintenance burden, excessive shading, and poor suitability for location. T5 Sycamore (Neighbour's tree at Matham Manor) Proposal: Prune back encroaching lateral branches to boundary line only. Reason: Remove overhang affecting property and ensure clearance while remaining within legal boundary. Works: Remove or reduce lateral branches back to suitable growth points.

Tree Preservation Order EL:18/07 - T1 - Horse chestnut - Proposed Works: Crown lift over the roadside only to provide a minimum clearance of 5.2 metres above ground level. All pruning shall be limited to secondary branches where practicable and carried out in accordance with BS3998:2010 Tree Work Recommendations, with a maximum pruning wound diameter of 50mm. Reason for Proposed Works: Following a tree survey, it was identified that the crown over the carriageway has been subject to contact from larger vehicles in the past. The proposed crown lift will provide appropriate clearance for high-sided vehicles, reducing the likelihood of future vehicle strikes and preventing unnecessary damage to the tree, whilst retaining its long-term health and amenity value.

Tree Preservation Order EL:00/09 - T1 - Robinia - Lateral reduction by up to 2 metres to suitable growth points. - Reason for work: To undertake a lateral crown reduction of up to 2 metres on the Robinia, where it overhangs the client's garden, pruning back to suitable growth points to maintain the tree within its current lateral dimensions and prevent further encroachment over the garden area. The proposed works are intended as cyclical maintenance to manage the extent of the crown over the neighbouring garden whilst retaining the tree's health, structural integrity and amenity value within the woodland setting. All pruning works shall be carried out in accordance with BS3998:2010 Tree Work Recommendations, with a maximum pruning wound diameter of 40mm, pruning back to suitable secondary growth points. Upon completion, the tree will retain a natural, balanced and flowing crown form appropriate to the species and its woodland location.
