1 Copsem Way Esher Surrey KT10 9ER
EL:89/29 - T1 Common Beech is a tall and prominent tree situated at the entrance of Copsem Way and immediately adjacent to the road serving the private estate. A large primary limb has recently failed in the low southwestern canopy and has subsequently been pruned back to the nearest suitable secondary branch, situated approximately 1 metre from the main stem. The limb beneath has been reduced by approximately 3.5m, to suitable secondary branching, to mitigate any likelihood of shedding (this limb was overlong and had become newly exposed due to the loss of the large primary limb above). No details of any cracking or significant damage have been provided by the arborists who undertook the recent tree surgery works. The remaining canopy is leggy and could be reduced by 1-2m to improve balance and aesthetics. Sensitive pruning is required with a drop crotched approach necessary. All pruning should be back to suitable sublateral growth points and pruning wounds should not exceed 10cm diameter. The current height and average radial spread is 24.3m & 9m respectively. The height and radial spread after sensitive reduction works have been completed must be no less than 22.3m & 7m respectively. All deadwood should be removed at the same visit.
