Decided Eastleigh T/26/101856 Consent under Tree Preservation Orders

Works: Trees

Decided. The decision notice on the council portal carries the outcome in full, including any conditions.

Proposal

1 No. Silver Birch (Tree 1) - Crown reduction of 3-4m and crown thinning by 10%. Tree drops deadwood twigs and small branches continually, larger branches could cause injury to people passing in the street or visiting the property. This would benefit the neighbour installing solar panels as the tree casts shadow and also continually clogs the guttering. Tree surgeon is concerned about a rot pocket above a limb that overhangs the driveway and footpath. This limb also impedes a street lamp. Thinning and reduction would reduce the load on the tree.

About trees applications

How this application type works

Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.

2no. Unspecified Species- Crown lift to 5m and extended limbs to be reduced by 1.5m. Cut back the overhanging branches, neaten it up and prevent any future damage as they overhang the roof, which contributed to moss growth and property damage. They overhang the road, pavement and neighbouring driveway.
