Proposal
1no. Silver Birch (T1, situated on RAF land adjacent to Marina Drive) - Crown reduction of 3-4m from the top and sides 2-3m to provide a natural shape. Reduce and reshape crown, cutting back substantial vertical and lateral regrowth from previous pruning points, and remove the two lower branches growing towards Marina Drive. Tree has grown considerably since it was last maintained and is increasingly reducing natural light to the adjoining property and garden. During the winter months it regularly sheds branches onto adjacent pathway, garden and balcony, with some larger hanging branches having snapped during periods of high winds. The works are requested to manage the size and spread of the tree, reduce overhanging growth and risk of further branch failure, whilst retaining the Silver Birch and establishing an appropriate ongoing maintenance regime.
