T1 - Common Beech (Fagus sylvatica) Over mature, DBH: 1105mm Action required within 6 months of reports production: Inspect and assess integrity of the existing cobra type cable brace and re-tighten as necessary. Install additional cobra type cable brace between major stems at between 7-8m above ground level. Remove all branches below the installed cobra type cable brace (12m) on the south-eastern stem. Undertake selective crown thinning by 15% to reduce sail effect and improve wind permeability of the crown. From the secondary bifurcation at 13m on the south-eastern stem, shorten branches on the south-eastern secondary stem by 4-5m to suitable growth points. North-west stem also requires some remedial work: Crown lift to 10m but only remove branches below 100mm in diameter. Shorten branches by 2- 3m to rebalance the crown.
