Planning application

5 Hillymead Seaton EX12 2LF

Granted East Devon 21/0281/TRE Felling/Lopping (TPO)

Works: Trees

Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.

Proposal

Willow (T6) CM1 Site plan - Reduce height to previous pollarding position to reduce posibility of truck splitting further owning to its present state of decay. Should this tree fall in its present dangerous condition there is possibility of this falling on to the busy public footpath linking the town centre to the wetlands and adjoining cycle track. Taking these measures should extend the life of the tree.

What a grant of permission means

The process from here

Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.

Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.

About trees applications

How this application type works

Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.

T1, Oak : crown clean, remove, back to the collar, the growth going towards the power lines; remove, back to the collar, the lower 5 limbs extending towards the east, approximately 100-120mm diameter cuts, poor growth/ epicormic growth on these branches to go too, so a branch removal would suit the trees natural defence better.
