What a grant of permission means
The process from here
Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.
Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.
About trees applications
How this application type works
Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.

The following tree works to all trees on the entire site: - Remove deadwood. - Remove hanging, broken and detached branches where present. - Crown lift trees across the site to provide a clearance of up to 5.2 metres over the internal roads and footpaths (crown lifting limited to the pruning of tertiary and secondary branches and epicormic growth only). - Prune all trees surrounding lodges to provide a clearance of up to 1.5 metres from the caravan elevations by pruning tertiary and secondary branches and epicormic growth only, retaining the natural form and character of each tree. - Crown raise and prune low-hanging branches within borders and hedgerows where they overhang footpaths by up to 1 metre, using the pruning of tertiary and secondary branches and epicormic growth only. - Remove snapped, failed or dangerous limbs where necessary to make trees safe where such works fall within the scope of Regulation 14 exemptions.

G1 - Willow, Birch and Alder (trees and associated vegetation situated on the lake bank adjacent to Lodges 1–11): - Create and maintain eleven view corridors as shown on Drawing The lakes Plan set in front of Lodges 1 to 11 with the bank estimated at 142 metres in length. Each area will not exceed 1.5 metres in width measured along the lakeside frontage. - Within these corridors, remove selected Willow, Alder and Birch stems up to a maximum 100mm diameter and coppice Alder and Willow stools as necessary to maintain views. - Crown raise and prune selected trees within and immediately adjacent to the view corridors by removing secondary and suppressed lower or mid level branches only, where applicable to provide a maximum crown clearance of 2 metres above ground level or set from the aspect of the veranda. - Each area will selectively reduce and prune tertiary and secondary branches only and thinning aspects by 20 - 25% - Each aspect / opening will be created as a natural setting to allow light and give a visual to the lake from the lodges verandas. No aspects will be cut into block windows. Replacement Trees: No replacement planting is proposed as part of these works. Any trees removed will be limited to small dead specimens that do not make a significant contribution to the overall tree group or its amenity value. Should any tree of greater significance be identified during the course of the works, it will be retained where practicable. Where retention is not feasible, it will be appropriately accounted for.
