Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.

Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.

Heritage applications concern listed buildings and conservation areas. Listed building consent is needed for works, inside or out, that affect the special interest of a listed building, and carrying out such works without consent is a criminal offence. The council weighs harm to the heritage asset against any public benefit of the proposal.

  The Lime tree in question is directly opposite the property and overhangs the road and roof. It grows on the bank owned by Chagford house. We wish to reduce the lateral branches to reduce the risk of failure over the house. (see photos) This spec would be carried out to bs3998 and need traffic control. There is also some crownlifting and coppicing we would like to do on the bank from some smaller lime trees and Laurel shrubs The low hanging branches of the main Lime tree also need crown lifting or pruning off of the property. The amount of crownlifiting and coppicing would span the around 3 meters past the building itself. The crownlifting and coppicing needs doing as it is below the spec of 5.5 meters over the highway. It would also benefit the property owner with as it would increase the light getting into the property.
