Awaiting decision Cotswold 26/02442/TCONR

Works: Trees

Still open. Anyone can comment while the consultation period runs, and comments go to the council rather than to us.

Proposal

Two semi mature Cypress trees to be felled. I have been informed that a reduction in height and girth are not appropriate for this type of tree. Tree A is leaning and is likely to fall in a high wind, this would likely destroy part of a retaining wall. Hopefully a portion of this tree will be retained to grow up vertically. Tree B is located directly in front of the house about 6m from the frontage, it is now 10m high and is blocking the path to the (old) front door and is likely to cause structural damage to the main elevation of a Grade II listed building. There are no plans to replant in this position

Fell one Ash tree at the rear of the property. This tree is causing excessive shading to this property and the neighbours. The 3 Beech trees at the front of the property require permission for a small reduction in width and height. They are shading the front room of the property and overhang the neighbours drive

Ash Tree (identified on Plan 1 by red circle) - Proposed works: 1) remove one large bough showing advanced decay and liable to fall on neighbour's drive. 2) remove adjoining large bough - showing some less advanced decay but use opportunity to deal with it whilst tree surgeon on site 3) pollard main trunk to reduce height to reduce risk in case of future issue with Ash die back
