Planning application

PA26/02725

Indian Queens, Goss Moor National Nature Reserve

Granted Cornwall Overhead Electricity Lines

Proposal

Replacement of phase conductors (electricity lines), on the existing 132kV OHL (AY Route Towers 1-8) shown, with slightly larger modern equivalents as part of network reinforcement but to remain a 132kv line. Requirement for access tracks and set down areas inside Goss Moor National Nature Reserve, which is also designated as a SSSI and SAC. Works being combined with proposed replacement of combined telecoms fibre/earthing wires being undertaken by National Grid Telecoms along the same route and using the same access ways etc. to limit impacts on SSSI/SAC site.

What a grant of permission means

The process from here

Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.

Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.
