Proposal
Works to trees under Tree Preservation Orders, namely, 1) Tree 1 Prunus - Crown is suffering dieback with several branches broken / hanging. Leaning in towards garden. Sap can be seen leaking from damaged areas. Fell tree completely. We will plant a new ornamental Cherry nearby in a position to give it space and light to thrive. 2) Tree 2 Bay Tree - Remove 4 x heavily leaning stems, thin and reduce remainder to approx 3m height. 3) Tree 3 Cherry Tree - Tree is heavily leaning and is propped up by adjacent bay. Remove main stems to unions at approx 2m height where already broken, retaining new vertical growth. Tree may stabilise with reduced weight.

What a grant of permission means
The process from here
Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.
Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.
About trees applications
How this application type works
Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.
