Trees Church Hill Ludgvan Cornwall

Granted Cornwall Tree Preservation Order

Proposal

Works to Trees covered by a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) - 1672 - Hazel - Coppice. 6175 - Holly - Remove. Tree ID: 6175 Species: Ilex aquifolium (Common Holly) Works Required: Remove the dead and decayed hung-up stem located in the adjacent crown. The affected stem is leaning toward the allotment, posing a potential hazard and requiring careful removal to prevent damage to nearby property or vegetation. Conduct a dynamic risk assessment prior to removal to ensure safe working practices, especially due to the unstable nature of the hung-up material. Objective: Eliminate potential hazard to the allotment area. Improve structural safety and reduce risk of stem collapse. Tree ID: 1672 Species: Corylus avellana (Common Hazel) Works Required: Selective coppicing of over-mature and decayed stems within the group of Hazel stools. Target stems that are causing obstruction to high-sided vehicles, especially along site access paths or roadways. Retain healthy basal stools to promote regrowth and maintain screening or ecological value. Objective: Restore appropriate clearance for vehicle access. Encourage healthy regeneration of Hazel through coppicing. Reduce hazard from decayed material. All tree works should be carried out in accordance with BS 3998:2010 ??? Tree Work ??? Recommendations, with due consideration to site-specific conditions, safety, and wildlife legislation (including the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, as amended). Works should be conducted by suitably qualified and insured arboricultural professionals.

What a grant of permission means

The process from here

Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.

Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.

About trees applications

How this application type works

Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.
