The presence of fungal fruiting bodies, together with visible structural defects, suggests that deterioration is affecting the tree's stability and structural integrity. The tree has recently been inspected by a professional tree surgeon who advised that the tree is diseased, structurally compromised and potentially dangerous. The recommendation was that the tree should be removed due to the risk of failure.
