G1 Four Yews - crown lift over lych-gate to give 1 to 1.5m clearance, crown lift over road and pavement to satisfy highway requirements and heavily crown lift on church side to improve light to area Note - The above pruning on the church side would leave a few large wounds (up to 200mm diameter) but there is little option but it is likely the trees will easily cope T2 Irish Yew - (increasing damage to monuments) - Reduce to small collection of central stems 1 to 1.5m tall to allow to sprout as Yew shrub and reduce further damage to graves T3 Norway Maple - (significant structural defects - consider removal in next ten to twenty years) - Heavily reduce on church and neighbour's sides to reduce the risk of major failures Note - This too will leave some large wounds but the alternative if sections fail could be significantly more harmful to the tree T4 Copper Beech - Heavily reduce on church and neighbour's sides to give more light to neighbour's garden and reduce from the church G5 Ash group - Crown lift to give approximately 4m ground clearance, remove major dead wood and damaged branches and thin lower crown by up to 20% T6 Multi-stemmed Ash - (very poor form and oppressive to neighbours with little appropriate pruning options available) - Fell

T1- X1 Oak Tree. To carry out a crown reduction on the entire tree canopy of between 2-3 metres. The tree is in clear decline, sparse canopy, lacking vitality, lots of deadwood and branch dieback. The root system on around 40% of the tree looks to have been covered with historic amounts of soil when the property was constructed.

One pine at the entrance to Churton Lodge shown circled in red in the photo. This is a very overmature tree with three huge bottom limbs. Their used to be another pine behind this one which blew down as a result it lack and limbs on this side to help balance the tree. My fear is these limbs will either rip off due to their size and result in the loss of tree or cause it to fall down like its sister tree. I would like to just remove these three limbs to try and prevent this.

After consultation with a qualified arborist (Alex Davies from AJD Tree Care, Sandbach) regarding several trees on our property, he recommended the following actions (please refer to sketch map for the location of the affected trees T1, T2, T3 and T4) T1 Copper Beech TPO V/81/00175/ORD Tree No 9 Crown Lift to raise the lower small branches which overhang the pavement and are currently at head height in places T2 and T3 Sycamore Conservation Area owned by Church Crown Lift to remove the lower branches which overhang the garden of 2 Hadrian Way and are currently at head height in places T4 Sycamore Conservation Area joint owned by Church and 2 Hadrian Way Crown Lift to remove lower branches which overhang the garden of 2 Hadrian Way and are currently scraping the garage roof. The wind causes the branch to bang the roof which we believe will increase the likelihood of structural damage in bad weather. We have only been in this property for about 6 months but we recall that the previous owners suffered damage to the garage roof from a falling branch some years ago - presumably the same tree. We have spoken to the Church Warden (Ali Fletcher) about the proposed work, and on behalf of the church, she is happy for the work to proceed from her perspective.
