What a grant of permission means
The process from here
Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.
Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.
About trees applications
How this application type works
Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.

Orchard View Street From Main Street To Swalcliffe Lea Upper Tadmarton OX15 5TB
.T1 - Mature Ash - Approx 12m in height .Preposed Work - Fell .Reason for Preposed work - The tree is located on the north corner boundary of the garden. The tree is growing just inside the boundary dry stone wall. the crown overhangs the highway on the north/west side of the wall by approx 5m. The vitality of the tree is poor and in severe decline, most likely due to dieback. The tree has dropped large limbs recently and the duty holders are concerned about the highway. The tree is only going to decline further and therefore we would like to fell. the duty holder is planning on mitigating the loss by planting a group of small trees close to the north/east boundary fence. . T2 - Mature Willow - Approx 12m in height . Preposed work - Crown raising BY approx 4m on the south/west facing growth back to boundary line. . Reason for proposed work - The tree is located just behind the north/east boundary fence in another property's grounds. We are hoping to reduce the growth that exceeds the boundary line with ensuring the pruning will not be in any way detrimental to the tree. My clients have gained permission from the duty holder to carry out the work.

Old Rectory The Walk Islip OX5 2SD
Yew Trees – T15 and T16: Whilst the trees are category ‘B2’ they have been substantially pushing on a Grade II listed boundary wall which is directly onto The Walk, resulting in a risk to the general public from collapse. Temporary props have been installed, but it is considered that a risk remains to the public. The original consented planning application ‘24/01113/F’ hoped to just reduce the canopies of these trees, further subsequent movement of the wall now necessitates the need to remove these trees on safety grounds. As set out in the attached structural engineer’s report, the tree roots are contributing to the movement of the wall – leading to a critical safety matter as the wall would fall into a public space. This risk would remain if the wall were to be rebuilt, due to the proximity of the roots. Consequently, the wall cannot be made safe or rebuilt without removing these trees and their root systems.
