Planning application

Blencowe Stratford Road A422 Drayton OX15 6EH

Granted Cherwell 26/00001/TCA Works To Trees In Conservation Area

Works: Trees

Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.

Proposal

Amended 12.01.26 - Spoke with Applicant and confirmed tree is a Conifer Conifer - The tree is located directly beneath overhead power lines, which poses a risk to electrical safety, especially during high winds. Its root system runs alongside and likely beneath our incoming water supply pipe, creating a risk of damage and making future maintenance access difficult. The tree is also positioned very close to the house, and due to its height and spread now represents a potential hazard to the building. For these safety-related reasons, we are seeking approval for the removal of the tree.

A crab apple tree situated within the small front garden. The tree has become overgrown and disproportionately large for the confined garden area, with a dense crown extending close to the house and over the front garden. Its size and position make the garden difficult to maintain and reduce light to the front elevation and adjoining windows. The proposal is to remove the tree and stump and restore the front garden

The adjacent tree east was pruned by us around 2 years ago, the aerial image shows the clearance we achieved. Epicormic growth 0-8m will also be removed. To re-shape the retained crown a 1m reduction (removing up to 2m) above the neighbouring garden, west will be completed - subject to TPO 023/2005
