Granted Chelmsford 20/05615/CAT Trees

Works: Trees Small domestic

Read from the description, not a valuation. How we read the register

Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.

Proposal

T1 - Cherry - Fell. Reason: Tree seeded itself in a confined space beside garden shed which has been damaged as a result and now needs replacing; allow safe replacement of shed. I do not wish to replant due to low amenity value in existing position and the recent planting of 3 trees shown on the sketch plan T6 (Magnolia), T7, T8 (both Acers). T2 - Cherry - Remove lower branches. Reason: Tree has grown next to neighbouring garages belonging to flats. Lower branches are resting on roof tiles and I am concerned they may be causing damage, or will do in the future.

Cherry Tree - in back garden (1 on Sketch Plan)- Fell. Reason - close and overhanging neighbouring garages that show signs of damage; Fir tree- at the front of the house (2 on Sketch Plan)- Fell. Encroaches on driveway and is brown / dying. Removal will allow self seeded yew beneath as hedges, plant additional yews if necessary; Elaeagnus bush (3 on Sketch Plan)- Remove. Reason: Grows vigorously and encroaches on driveway. Replace with smaller slow growing hedging Euonymus Japonicas.

T3 - Hawthorn - Fell. Reason: tree is dying and dangerous. Half of the Hawthorn was already removed and replaced by the Rowan (sketch plan T4). A diseased oak tree previously removed was replanted with a Liquid Amber (sketch plan T5), in front of remaining Hawthorn under the advice of the Tree Officer as it was acknowledged then that the remaining Hawthorn was dying. Therefore preference to not replant.
