Oak (T1) - 1) Crown Thin Upper, Vertical canopy by 20% of leaf area to alleviate weight and reduce sail area of canopy. 2) Reduce lower lateral branch work by up to 2m in length to reduce overall length of phototrophic branch work. 3) Crown clean of deadwood greater than 30mm in diameter, rubbing/crossing branches and hazardous limbs, I.e. Limbs with decaying open wounds etc. Oak (T17) - 1) Crown thin entire canopy by up to 15% of leaf area to allow more light and air to pass through canopy and to promote mid and lower canopy growth. 2) Crown clean of deadwood greater than 30mm in diameter, rubbing/crossing branches and hazardous limbs, I.e. Limbs with decaying open wounds etc. Oak (T3) - 1) Crown reduce secondary growth only by up to 1.5m throughout entire canopy. 2) Thin remaining canopy, where applicable, to allow more light and air to pass through canopy. 3) Crown clean of deadwood greater than 30mm in diameter, rubbing/crossing branched and hazardous limbs, I.e. Limbs with decaying open wounds etc. All works proposed are for the continuous maintenance of trees at their current scale and to promote fresh growth for longevity and vigour
