Planning application
P/26/0136/2
38 The Ridgeway, Rothley, Leicestershire, LE7 7LE
Proposal
Felling of a group of popular trees which has been maintained as a high hedge and has come to the end of it's life, as they have large amounts of decay in the trunks and some are dead. There has been fallen branches from the group which have fallen in to next doors tennis court, damaging their fencing. The plan is to to fell and replant. There is also an oak tree which requires reduction of a large limb, by approx. 3 meters, which is extending over the garden. This oak has previously been pollarded to reduce stress on the tree.

About trees applications
How this application type works
Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.
