THE WORKS COMPRISE THE REPAIR AND UPGRADING OF PART OF AN EXISTING COASTAL DEFENCE AT LLANELLI BEACH. THE RECENT WINTER STORMS DAMAGED THE UPPER PORTION OF THE EXISTING DEFENCE AND THE HINTERLAND SPIT IS UNDER THREAT; THE TOE OF THE EXISTING DEFENCE REMAINS IN GOOD CONDITION AND THE WORKS WILL THEREFORE BE RESTRICTED TO THE AREA BEHIND THE TOE AND ABOVE EXISTING BEACH LEVEL. THE WORKS WILL NOT EXTEND BEYOND THE FOOTPRINT OF THE EXISTING COASTAL DEFENCE
