Planning application
Grasslands at the Southern Boundary of Dinefwr Park, Dinefwr Park, Llandeilo
Permission granted. Work must normally begin within five years of the decision or the permission lapses.
Proposal
The National Trust have developed a vision to achieve high nature status and favourable condition of the designated features on Dinefwr NNR floodplain, and the 4 Rivers project is supporting delivery of a number of key actions, including: (i) Light touch management of scrub and reedmace encroachment in 2 oxbows to retain more permanent open water habitat in these features (ii) Light touch widening/deepening of some of the existing ephemeral pools which have become silted up – adding to the seasonally wet open water habitats on the floodplain (iii) Creation of a new large pond feature to offset the loss of open water habitat as some of the oxbows naturally succeed to swamp communities (iv) Advising on management and restoration of floodplain meadow habitats, with input from the Floodplain Meadows Partnership (v) Reinstatement of some areas of fencing across the site This Planning Application deals with points (ii) and (iii) which relate to proposed excavation works in the floodplain. The other elements of work (vegetation management and fencing) are to be delivered as a separate package of work and are not subject to Planning Consent
