Greyhound Rescue Wales, Hillcrest, Bryncethin Road, Garnant, Ammanford, SA18 1YS
The Trustees of Greyhound Rescue Wales (Reg. No 1152650) are seeking to replace the existing kennel accommodation at the Hillcrest site with purpose built, modern and efficient facilities in compliance with current design and welfare standards. The site proposals include: a) the replacement of the existing principal stable block (144m2) with a new building complex (362m2) to provide 11no double kennel units with secure external runs, a hospital recovery unit, a reception and 1:1 room which can be opened into a single area for meetings, training and events; staff/volunteer/visitor welfare facilities, shower room & drying area, and 3no secure storage/plant areas. b) the conversion of an existing stable block adjacent to the house so that the charity are able to provide the necessary isolation kennel accommodation. c) the construction of a new small barn structure which will allow the rescue centre to provide an all-weather, safe, secure, play and interaction area enabling essential enrichment for the dogs. d) landscaping to improve access throughout the site to all and provide sensory stimulation for the dogs. e) on site parking and surface water drainage solutions will also improve the access and functionality of the site as well as minimise the impact of the current facility on the surrounding land uses. (A SUDS application will be submitted to the SAB separately)
