Donmar Warehouse 41 Earlham Street London WC2H 9LX
To mark the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, international contemporary artist Ai Weiwei has created a flag to celebrate universal human rights. The Donmar is one of the leading organisations, along with other arts organisations and human rights charities, who will be participating in activity around the 'Fly The Flag' campaign for human rights for a fixed duration from Monday 24 - Sunday 30 June 2019. Part of our involvement would be to fly a flag, designed by Ai Weiwei, from the steel arm which extends from the front of the theatre building, by the building's dock doors, above the entrance to Cucumber Alley. The flag would either be 8ft x 5ft or 5ft x 3ft. We, along with many other arts organisations, are very committed to this project and its ambition; we are keen to show our support by flying the flag during the above mentioned week (solely for this period).
