21/0016/TTCA Granted
82 South End Bassingbourn Cum Kneesworth SG8 5NL
Remove Cherry Tree (self sown) - too close to wall of the property, within 20cm distance. Property itself is a grade 2 thatched 17th century cottage. Roots in danger of causing damage to property wall, also water mains below ground in adjacent garden area. Anglia Water/ Cambridge Water have been called out twice within the past 10 years to deal with underground mains leaks which could be related to root system. Branches of the tree touch and extend above overhead telephone cables which cross the front of the property along South End. It would be inappropriate to replace with a similarly sized tree as the area at the front of the house, where the cherry tree is growing, is too small and its proximity to the house is the problem.

20/2404/TTCA Granted
15 North End Bassingbourn Cum Kneesworth SG8 5NX
Removal of the two large willow trees on the northern boundary of the property. When we purchased the property several years ago our surveyor advised that having such large trees so close to the property could cause damage to the foundations of the property due to roots. Since we are in a listed property we do not wish the trees to cause damage to either our property or our neighbours. The trees are also too big for their locations. The area would be replanted with small trees or shrubs particularly chosen to attract wildlife such as birds and insects.

20/2267/TTCA Granted
35 High Street Bassingbourn Cum Kneesworth SG8 5NE
T1 - mature Horse Chestnut - This tree is very large and is bifocated at 4m with a questionable union. and is positioned over both number 35 and the next door neighbors children's bedrooms. This has been a point of contention as the neighbor is concerned about the tree in the high winds. One branch has already fallen. The tree is also causing excessive shading for both property's. I propose a 3.5m reduction in height and 2.5m reduction on the sides. Removal of deadwood. Crown lift to 4.5m.
