Fellows Garden Trinity College Queens Road Cambridge Cambridgeshire
Works: Trees
Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.
Proposal
T796 - Lime in Fellows' Garden - reduce both stems by approx. 6-7m back to live wood to encourage regrowth from cut points. T619 - Cedar in Fellows Garden - fell. Cedar dieback (Sirococcus sp.) suspected. Shoot dieback most notable in lower crown. T783 - Yew in Fellows' Garden (Twin stemmed, with 1m dead stub also from base - 1.6m from base of Wellingtonia) - Coppice at 0.3m to allow low regeneration. T786 - Yew in Fellows Garden (4m from gravel path edge, single stem but with dead stub facing Queens Road at 1.5m and low branch with dead stub at facing Wellingtonia) - Coppice at 0.3m to allow low regeneration. T824 - Horse Chestnut in South Paddock - reduce height by 3-4m and lateral extent by approximately 2m to alleviate mechanical loading and minimise risk of limb failure. Reduction is intended to establish a smaller crown which can be managed at reduced dimensions and aid tree longevity. T924 - Lime in North Paddock, Pollard at approximately 7m to encourage regrowth and to mitigate risk of lapsed stems falling on to footpath due to decay at pollard point.
