What refusal means

The process from here

The council refused this application for the reasons set out on the decision notice, which the council portal holds in full. Only the applicant can appeal a refusal; the time limit runs from the decision date and is shorter for householder schemes.

Refusal does not prevent a fresh attempt. Applicants often address the reasons for refusal and resubmit, so a refused scheme is not necessarily the end of proposals for the site.

About full applications applications

How this application type works

A full application seeks permission for a complete, detailed proposal in one go: siting, design, access and landscaping are all fixed at this stage. It is the standard route for new buildings, conversions and changes of use. The statutory target is eight weeks for smaller schemes and thirteen weeks for major development, though complex cases often take longer by agreement.

Conifer - reduce where it extends over driveway back to growth points as close to edge of drive as possible, up the full height of the tree. On some branches where there are no suitable growth points, we may have to reduce to the main stem, but this will be minimised as much as possible. The longer branches will be reduced by 1.5 to 2 metres subject to there being a suitable live pruning point (as its a conifer), or less if not. This reduction distance will reduce as we work up the height of the canopy as the branches reduce in length, until the reduction blends out into the top of the tree - no height will be removed from the tree. The purpose of the work is to reduce the lateral canopy overhang over the drive, and maintain the canopy so it does not continue to encroach further over the driveway as it is currently.
