This tree is on the river bank, adjacent to the location of a London Plane tree that failed last year. The resident is therefore concerned for the Oak tree and would like to reduce the weight of the crown to reduce the risk of any failure.

T1277 - Oak - Located adjacent to No 30 - Following a recent aerial inspection undertaken as part of the tree's annual monitoring programme due to its deteriorating crown condition, a significant longitudinal stem crack was identified (please see attached photographs). Owing to the severity of the defect and the tree's location adjacent to a residential property and within a car parking area, the potential consequences of failure present an unacceptable risk to public safety and property. We therefore propose to fell to crown break, retaining a 2m monolith to provide valuable standing deadwood habitat, and to plant a suitable replacement tree in an appropriate location.
