The process from here
Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.
Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.
About trees applications
How this application type works
Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.

T1 Oak - We would like to reduce the crown by 2-3 metres back to previous pruning points. The tree was last reduced approximately 5 years ago. This tree is on the river bank, adjacent to the location of a London Plane tree that failed last year. The resident is therefore concerned for the Oak tree and would like to reduce the weight of the crown to reduce the risk of any failure.

Tree numbers as identified on plan T1 Pine - Fell - remove as the crown has little growth and provides little amenity value. It is also growing over the top of another smaller but healthier Pine which is now being restricted by the T1 Pine. There are also plans to extend the driveway for easier entrance, the new driveway will be extended over where the tree is currently situated. T2 - Fell - Pine is the smallest of the 5 and is growing directly into the crown of T3 and T4. It is also close to the garage and driveway so it makes sense to remove this one to prevent any congested growth and limit the damage to lawn and surrounding buildings. T3/T4/T5 - Reduce crowns by 1m, deadwood and lift to 6m

The wooded area has not been maintained in a long time and is substantially overgrown and has a fair amount of unhealthy or dead trees. T1 - Unidentified species - Fell - Tree is dead T2 - London Plane - Fell - Tree has been badly pruned before and has very abnormal growth, once the area has been thinned this tree will be very unsightly. We would have suggested pollarding but the previous pollard points will still leave the tree looking very unsightly. T3 - Holly - There are many hollies in the woodland, we would like to remove this one as it is leaning significantly and has less amenity value then the rest. T4/T5/T6/T7- Conifers - Fell - We would like to fell these as they hold little amenity value to the area T8/T9/T10 - Sycamores - Fell - all 3 trees have very substantial rot at the base T11 - Multi stem holly - Fell - we would like to remove all 3 hollies as part of the thinning and tidying of the area. These are 3 of the least mature hollies in the area T12 - Conifer -... read more
