Refused Redditch TPO23/031 Works to a tree with a TPO

Works: Trees

Refused. Only the applicant can appeal, within the statutory time limit, and a revised scheme can be submitted instead.

Proposal

The tree is 1 of 4 Oak trees in G.2, situated on the driveway of 257 Walkwood Road, B97 5NU. Applying for permission have the tree felled to the ground. This is due to believing the tree is diseased, it is covered in ivy and the parts of the tree I can see do not look healthy and there is concern of this potentially causing damage to the property in future, either by parts falling down or damage due to the roots. I do not wish to plant a replacement tree, to provide sufficient clearance to the property and to allow being able to park 2 cars on the drive.

Tree is the only tree on the property left side border looking down garden from the patio. Work was performed in 2018 and we would like crown reduction to the same point as previous as the tree is blocking significant levels of natural light.

T1 Oak Remove to The tree works are proposed to stop the influence of the tree(s) on the soil below building foundation level and provide long term stability.to 14 Heathfield Road Redditch B97 5SQ Estimated costs of repair to the building are ?63360.00 if the influence of the tree(s) remain and ?4,225.10 if the proposed tree works are allowed to proceed. Granting permission will limit these costs. In the event of a refusal we, or our clients, will seek to secure compensation for the additional costs incurred through Section 202(e). Should the tree/s remain the total cost of repairs will be the Superstructural repairs + Alternative method of repairs = ?67585.10 It is the expert opinion of both the case engineer and arboriculturalist that on the balance of probabilities the supporting information demonstrates the influence of the tree(s).
