Proposal

Trees highlighted on a recent tree safety inspection, which will also add to the long term management plan objectives of diversifying the tree species, creating lower canopy boundary edges planted with shrubs and creating deadwood in the woodland. We currently have a felling licence in place to support the restructuring and thinning of the dense canopy in the woodland. Additional trees planned for work include: T3 Vet. Sweet chestnut - Sycamore. Remove long sycamore branch which extends over the crown to reduce the competition for the veteran tree. T4 Beech - Remove. This tree is located tight to the boundary of the site with the crown overhanging the adjacent garden. It is also suppressing the crown of the veteran Sweet Chestnut tree (T3) to the rear. Given the ultimate size of the beech and impact on the veteran tree it is recommended for removal whilst the tree is relatively small. T21 Oak(2) - Reduce by 5m to 8m. Two trees which lean at 70 degrees towards the houses appear to have been partially uprooted, with no growth on the western side of the trees. Located 19m from the boundary wall. It is recommended to reduce the height / crowns of the trees by 5m to 8m. The work would reduce the sail area of the tree and weight very slightly to reduce risk of failure, and if failure did occur it was well outside the falling distance of adjacent properties. T33 Aspen - Reduce crown. Reduce two limbs on the house side of the tree by approximately 7-8m in length. T34 Aspen - Pollard. Reduce to the first fork to leave a trunk of approximately 14m in height. T36 Aspen - Reduce limb over garden by approximately 7m to 8m in length. T38 Leyland Cypress - Remove.

T1 chestnut - crown lift up to 5.2 metres over drive. Remove growth on stem up to 2 metres and prune back branches away from roof and wall to create a 2 metre clearance (back to previous pruning points). This is all for clearance for traffic and to prevent the tree from touching the building.
