Manor Lodge Locks Hill Portslade BN41 2LA

Granted Brighton and Hove BH2025/02553 Treeworks on Preserved Trees (Lopping)

Works: Trees

Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.

Proposal

T1- Sycamore: All branches overhanging the south-facing property boundary of Loxdale English Centre are to be reduced by approximatly 2-3m back to suitable growth points. T2- Sycamore: All branches overhanging the south-facing property boundary of Loxdale English Centre are to be reduced by approximatly 2-3m back to suitable growth points. T3- Holm Oak: All branches overhanging the south-facing property boundary of Loxdale English Centre are to be reduced by approximatly 2-3m back to suitable growth points. Reason for work: Branches from these trees currently overhang the sports hall roof, which is due for repair. The pruning works are required to allow safe access for scaffolding and roof repairs. Additionally, solar panels are proposed to be installed on the roof; the pruning will also ensure adequate light levels and the long-term effectiveness of the solar panels.

T1 Sycamore- remove 3 epicormic stems at the base of the tree (approx diameter 10 cms each) Reduce central top height of the tree by 2 meters and reshape the crown all around. Reasons- the tree has not been worked on for some time and it is cutting out light at the back of the property and for other properties in the vicinity. It is a very tall tree for the confined space that it is in.
