What a grant of permission means
The process from here
Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.
Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.
About householder applications
How this application type works
Householder applications cover work to an existing house and its garden: extensions, loft and garage conversions, porches, outbuildings and similar alterations within the boundary of the home. They cannot be used to create a separate dwelling or change what the building is used for. Councils aim to decide them within eight weeks, and immediate neighbours are usually notified and given a chance to comment.

T1 Field Maple - fell tree due to roots damaging wall over the last few years. Tree is also causing excessive shade in the garden and dropping excessive leaf fall. A suitable replacement tree with be planted in its place. T2 Field Maple - fell tree due to roots damaging wall over the last few years. Tree is also causing excessive shade in the garden and dropping excessive leaf fall. A suitable replacement tree with be planted in its place. T3 Field Maple - Crown reduction, crown its around 30 feet wide by 20ft tall. We would like to take off 3 feet all the way around leaving the tree 24 feet wide by 19ft tall. We would also like to thin the trees canopy by 20%. This is just to gain more light into the garden and hopefully let wind suprised through the tree easier reducing wind sail from the open fields behind. Also reducing the risk of snapped limbs / branches.
