T1) Whitebeam. The tree has matured above the protection of the house and is subject to prevailing westerly winds. The new sail effect has caused torsion and flattening at the lower stem and a notable lean of *approximately 20 degrees east. It has tension cracks on the stem and lifted root flare on the windward side, and bark compression on the leeward. On the outer north side of the stem there is bark damage in line with internal fibre shearing, caused by active movement and leaning. The triple union at about 2m has included bark which is a common structural weakness, but it has compensated and is well ribbed on all sides. The tree is now leaning eastward, sending the canopy weight entirely over the boundary across the neighbouring property. This a progressive situation as the tree will not right itself nor can be righted back vertical. As it continues to mature the canopy weight will increase further eventually causing complete failure, likely at the base / lower stem, across the boundary hedge. If the wind direction assists, the neighbouring property could be within the drop zone of the tree. Remove and request not to replant if possible. Within 2m is not possible as it is hard standing or hedge. The base has been paved right up to and stump removal would likely result in damage to the new resin drive. There is lack of suitable space amongst existing trees across the front/roadside of the property. If replacement is the condition for removal, please can the officer advise.

T1) Lift Cedar tree to 3m maximum and thin remaining canopy 20% for light allowance. Trim long branches extending beyond the canopy shape by 1m max, leaving 2.5m. T2) Remove Birch tree in the back garden which is suppressed and grown as a very thin and tall single stem, and is now bending over.
