What a grant of permission means

The process from here

Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.

Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.

About trees applications

How this application type works

Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.

    3 JEROME CORNER, CROWTHORNE, RG45 7JF

Tree Specification: Beech (TPO 260 T8) Proposed Scope of Works The specimen currently displays good physiological vigour and presents no obvious visual defects. It stands at an approximate height of 15 metres with a radial crown spread of 10 metres. June 2nd 2026, the lowest limb failed approximately 2 metres from the branch union. This failure is attributed to a combination of high ambient temperatures followed by significant rainfall. A second limb failed from the same primary limb on 22nd July 2026 To mitigate the risk of further limb failures, I recommend a crown reduction of up to 2 metres from each branch tip, pruning back to appropriate growth points. This management practice will decrease the leverage and weight applied to each limb, ensuring the tree remains at a scale suitable for its current location and preventing it from becoming over-mature for the site. All resulting waste will be removed and all areas will be left clean and tidy. All works carried out will be in accordance with BS3998
