The process from here
Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.
Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.
About full applications applications
How this application type works
A full application seeks permission for a complete, detailed proposal in one go: siting, design, access and landscaping are all fixed at this stage. It is the standard route for new buildings, conversions and changes of use. The statutory target is eight weeks for smaller schemes and thirteen weeks for major development, though complex cases often take longer by agreement.

Rear Garden Oak tree (T1), situated on the northernmost boundary and protected under TPO 1113. Proposed Scope of Works Currently, the tree stands at approximately 12 metres in height with an 11-metre crown spread. Positioned against two converging boundaries, its canopy overhangs three different properties. With the tree estimated to have reached only 40-50% of its ultimate growth potential, proactive canopy management is advisable given its specific location. This approach will ensure the tree continues to provide significant amenity value to the surrounding area. To manage its size effectively, I recommend a comprehensive crown reduction of up to 2 metres. Pruning will be carried out from the branch tips back to appropriate growth points, facilitating containment while preserving the tree's natural, healthy form. Method of Works To carry out the specified arboricultural operations, the tree will be accessed by qualified personnel using a rope and harness. Using professional aerial pruning techniques, secondary and tertiary limbs will be reduced by up to 2 metres, with all pruning cuts made back to suitable growth points. All operations will be conducted in strict accordance with the British Standard for Tree Work (BS3998) to ensure the health and structural integrity of the specimen.
