Proposal
The proposal seeks temporary change of use of part of the Central Car Park, Bournemouth (adjacent to Gervis Place), to a construction site compound for approximately 18 months, commencing January 2026. The compound is required to support the delivery of the Westover Road Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) project, which aims to improve bus priority and public realm in Bournemouth town centre. The compound will include: Welfare facilities (toilet, canteen, drying room, office, meeting room); Secure materials storage area; Perimeter fencing (Heras panels) with controlled vehicle access gates; Defined circulation routes for safe access and egress. At the end of the project, the compound will be dismantled and the car park reinstated to its original use.
