Horrocks Fold Farm Barn Broadhead Road Turton Bolton
To change existing pre stained preservative treated hardwood double glazed windows, which are ill fitting, in places rotted and in places creating excessive draughts which at present we are covering with towels, with residence ? composite windows of similar style, double glazed, and with some on frontage of Broadhead Rd being acoustic glass to make inside of property quieter in bedrooms and living area. The Residence ? collection are designed specifically for heritage areas and conservation areas, and look like traditional flush wooden windows. The windows are to be cream in colour, which gives them a cottage feel to the property. The existing wooden doors we are looking at replacing as the doors are subject to weather variations, as the property is open to the elements, and during variations the doors swell and shrink seasonally, which when dry shrink so the wood panels split from each other and it is possible to see through the door, and during wet conditions the doors swell such that it becomes difficult to open and close the doors. Lastly we are looking to put an open porch to the side of the property (which we use as the main door), to keep the rain and weather off the door and people trying to gain entry to the property, this will be an off the shelf hardwood made covered porch, with locally sourced slate roof, and locally sourced stone dwarf walls.
