Works: Trees
Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.
Proposal
There are two trees, one in the front garden and one in the rear garden that we propose to fell. Both are rather shrubby trees and are taking up valuable light. Tree 1 - is a shoemaker tree in the front garden that has self seeded itself in various places around the front garden. It is obstructing the light into the cottage. We would like to clear fell. Tree 2 - is a medlar tree in the rear garden which is starting to split in places. We would like to clear fell this tree too.

T1- Oak Tip reduce by 5 - 6m. Leaving tree with crown height of c18m and a radius of 5m - A leaning to reduce weight on the root plate and lessen chance of failure. T2 - Beech reduce height only, by 6 to 8m to leave tree with crown height of 18m - A leaning tree to reduce weight on the root plate and lessen chance of failure. important to note both these trees stand in a stand of like aged trees that has seen through a combination of age, severe gales and waterlogged ground, failure at the root plate ( most recent Dec 22) of a number of trees causing damage to property and though fortuitously no injury, that is a possibility in the future. The risk of wind throw is increasing, as the loss of these neighbouring trees have left gaps in the canopy and within the network of interlocking rootplates leading to increased physical forces upon this now weakened self protective ecosystem. Also important to note that the owners have over the last 10 years or so have managed the aging tree stock within the grounds and deer park in a sympathetic and environmentally positive way. Leaving many standing veteran and dead trees where they can and extensive succession planting. pro active works are only undertaken where there is felt to be a risk to person or property.
