What a grant of permission means
The process from here
Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.
Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.
About trees applications
How this application type works
Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.

Birds Isle, Grange Road, Tenterden, TN30 6TL
T1 & T4 – False Acacia - Fell to ground level - due to T1 heavily protruding into the driveway due to its size at the base and is becoming a hazard. T4 is heavily unbalanced and is growing into T7. No replanting due to the locations being overcrowded and are preventing mature surrounding trees (T2 & T7) from thriving. T2 – Common Yew - crown lift to 4m and reduce height by 3m. Reduce remaining laterals by 2-3m to balance. T7 - Sweet Chestnut - crown reduction by 2-3m to encourage new growth. T23 – Eucalyptus - Fell to ground level due to severe decay at base. Replace and replant in the location of T23, a 3-4 metre Amur Cork Tree. T27 – Scotts Pine - Fell to ground level to prevent subsidence, (roots found under kitchen tiles on extension). No replanting proposed there are many TPO's already on site so thinning them out benefits the others

The Garden, Grange Road, Tenterden, Kent, TN30 6TL
Description: T1 Lime re-pollard. The tree has been previously pollarded and therefore now necessary to re-pollard to prevent possible branch failure. The neighbouring lime tree has been recently pollarded so this would be in keeping aesthetically with the area. There is also considerable amount of deadwood throughout the canopy and this work would remove the deadwood.
