This application is to reduce a large, mature Lime tree situated in a small rear garden at Vicarage Close, Belper. The tree is subject of a TPO/92 and also is within a conservation area. The tree has been subject to a previous reduction authorisation and the request is to reduce it to the previous points as before, as well as remove small amounts of epicormic growth on the lower part of the tree. Photographs supplied clearly show where the previous points reduced to last time and the size of the tree. Currently, the branches of the tree are touching the roof of the house and leaf mess is causing blockages to the guttering of the premises. It is also overhanging all the neighbouring properties. The occupant accepts the importance of the tree, the leaf mess and lack of light that comes with it, but is now concerned about the height.

Application for the removal of, Black Walnut tree, situated in the back garden of the property. My client wishes to apply for the removal of this mature Black Walnut tree for various reasons, mainly being that the tree has now grown too large for its setting, the tree has been regularly pruned previously, however this still leaves the majority of the garden in shade when in leaf - meaning that it is extremely difficult to grow other flora. In particular, newly planted fruit trees have not been able to establish due to this, and with the Black Walnut trees roots secreting chemicals (Juglone), they therefore suppress other flora. There is also concern for the other residents in neighboring properties, numerous and different size branches have been known to fall off due to storm damage, within the property itself and neighboring ones, and the same problem with a lack of natural light has been a concern for local residents. If given the permission, we would dismantle and fell the tree on site, the wood be used for fuel and the remaining branches chipped and used as biomass. The black walnut tree is not a native tree, so if permission were granted a new native tree would be planted in its place, i have recommended an Oak tree, but will be open to suggestions from the local council and the client,

We have a single conifer (Leylandii) on the boundary of our property which is also the boundary of the conservation area. This tree has two trunks and increasingly leans into our boundary fence that we share with a neighbour. This has damaged a series of fence panels in recent months. I am unsure of the trees age but it was well grown when we moved into the property in 2003. It has been seen by a tree surgeon who has advised removal of the tree. Both of the neighbours at the back have asked for its removal due to the fence issue and also a concern about it possibly falling into their buildings as it leans more than it used to. On the map I have indicated our property (yellow highlight) and the tree position is marked in red.
