A mature/veteran Oak which has been heavily reduced in the past. Tree exhibits old pruning wounds which have decayed back into major lateral limbs. Although the tree is breaking out into leaf it is noticeable slower than other specimens of Oak in the near vicinity. This could be due to the trees mature age or could be starting with some kind of systemic failure. I would recommend a Full Crown Reduction - Reducing the height and spread of the tree by up to 2 metres in accordance with pruning operations in BS 3998. This will reduce the weight and sail effect, caused by heavy winds, on the large limbs. Works recommended will prune the tree into a reduced symmetrical form retaining amenity value to the local area.

Oak (T4) - Crown lift to 6.5m over football pitch to allow installation of ball stop netting 3m back off the goal line. Chip spread at base of tree. Oak (T4) - Crown Reduction - Reducing the height and spread of the tree by up to 2-3 metres. Further reduction works to start a veteranisation process of an over mature oak. To retain the tree in location over residential gardens and buildings. Chip spread at base of tree.

G1, G2, G3 & G4 Crown Lift to provide 2.5 metres clearance from ground level on individual trees central to the recreation ground to allow foot traffic under the crowns. Owner of groups of trees Swanwick Parish Council T2 Oak Monolith at approximately 5m, 1-2m above crown break. Numerous large limb failures have recently occurred, on further climbed inspection and removal of ivy a large cavity was found from a historic branch failure which has caused decay in the main stem at approx 5m from ground level. Recommended monolith to retain most of the stem in a veteranisation process and take out any liabilities the tree poses having grown in a public / high target area. Chip on site in scrub area, timber removed. Owner of tree in contention but identified in appropriate section.
