We intend to hire a reputable trusted trader landscaper/tree surgeon to remove some of the branches overhanging our cars on the driveway. It is causing excessive shading, but also the sap is damaging the cars paintwork underneath and so we would very much like permission to cut these back. When speaking to a planning officer at AVBC it was advised that we are allowed to do this under common law but would need permission first. The school has already said it intends to make a seperate application to reduce the height of the tree(s). There are two trees; one next to our driveway, and another next to our garden. We understand that the tree to the garden has had some work done; however the tree towards our driveway and facing on to the A6 has now in some time.
