What Glenigan is

Glenigan is one of the UK's longest-established construction intelligence services. It sells researched sales leads: its team makes over a million phone calls a year to verify projects and identify decision makers, publishes contact details for them, tracks projects beyond the planning system through industry partnerships, and includes company intelligence and multi-user access, with five logins as standard. Pricing is quoted per customer based on the regions and sectors covered rather than published as a rate card.

What PlanIndex is

PlanIndex is a public index of planning applications with email alerts on top. Every application we hold has a free, permanent page anyone can read without an account. Alerts are self-serve: one watched area free, five areas with category filters and decision alerts for £29 a month, twenty five areas or whole councils with CSV export for £59 a month, cancel any time. The data is what councils publish on their registers, presented plainly and linked to source. We do not phone applicants, research contacts or estimate project values.

Which fits when

If your sales team needs verified decision-maker contacts, projects tracked past planning into procurement, and researched detail worth an enterprise budget, Glenigan is built for exactly that and PlanIndex is not a substitute. If what you need is to know what has been submitted and decided in the areas you work, at a price a sole trader can expense without a sales call, that is the job PlanIndex does. Some businesses use a national research service for pipeline and a local alert for their own patch; the two are not mutually exclusive.
